Scams
Medical Billing
It sounds like a viable plan -you pay between $300 and $900 for everything you need
to start your very own medical billing business from home. You are given "professional"
medical billing
software, and a list of potential clients for you to contact in
your area to get you going.
Whilst all of this sounds wonderful, what you are not told is that most medical clinics process their own bills, or outsource this service to firms, and not individuals.
The software may not meet their specifications,
and often the lists of "potential clients" are outdated or incorrect.
Typing At Home
This is similar to an old scam where you send in money for information on how to
make money. After sending in your money, you are then told to advertise the
same thing to other people and make your money by the payments the people send you
to find out the same secret!
Multi-Level Marketing (MLM)
There are actual legitimate MLM companies out there (like Amway), but we know of
another (a high profile herbal product marketing scheme) which expects you to send
in money to "find out more" about their system of making money. By the time you find out that they expect you to sell their products (which you may not be too excited about doing), you have already paid your money to them for their secret.
Why they couldn't just tell you about it first and then let you decide if you want
to pay them for the information on how to start up your "business" we don't know.
Their answer is that they supposedly only want "serious" people to know their secret
and by paying their "admin fee", you are showing them that you are serious!

to be a scam.
